WHAT DO WE DO?

Soroptimist International of Kawartha Lakes is a service club working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.

HOW DO WE DO THAT?

We offer programs and services that help women and girls achieve their full potential as individuals and members of our community.

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Our programs and services impact those of all ages – from newborns, students in all levels of school, to seniors, and everyone in between.

SIKL offers several Award Programs for women, including:
Live Your Dream: education & training awards for women‘ – For more information, click HERE. This was previously known as ‘Women’s Opportunity Award’.
Dream It, Be It‘ Program for secondary school girls – Read more HERE.
‘The RoseMary Reid Positive Influence Award‘ – recognizes one female graduating student from each of the four City of Kawartha Lakes secondary schools for being a role model to their peers, and who exhibits personal leadership. Staff and teachers choose the recipient and a SIKL member presents a certificate and cash award during the student’s graduation ceremony.

As a club, we strive to meet needs within our community. You can read about Our Services on the Local Projects page.

From time to time, we also support International Projects as a club or individually. Some of these projects come from our head office, as selected by the Soroptimist International President. More information is given HERE.
