SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL IS A GLOBAL VOLUNTEER MOVEMENT.

Soroptimist International is made up of five Federations:
Soroptimist International of the Americas,
Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland,
Soroptimist International of Europe;
Soroptimist International of South West Pacific, and
Soroptimist International of Africa.

Soroptimist International advocates for human rights and gender equality through education and empowerment. At the heart of Soroptimist International’s advocacy is its work across seven United Nations Centres, in which sixteen Representatives ensure that the voices of women and girls around the world are included in international decision making. Soroptimist International collaborates with other like-minded organizations on issues of mutual concern, working together towards our common aspirations for women.

The ADVOCACY WORK of SOROPTIMISTS around the world includes:
The COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN (CSW), established by the United Nations in 1946, is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGS) are an opportunity to increase political will and determination to implement a truly ambitious post-2015 agenda that addresses the fundamental inequalities between peoples.
It is possible to transform our world, but we need more than a commitment – we need action. Soroptimists play a large part in that action plan.
