Girls On The RunWe inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experienced-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Girls on the Run Ontario is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Girls On The Run

During the 2014-2015 school year, Soroptimist International of Kawartha Lakes partnered with King Albert Public School in Lindsay to offer this course. SIKL sponsored up to 20 girls, ages 8-11, to participate in this program. The school principal and various teachers are excited to see this opportunity being offered to their students. Coaches are members of Soroptimist International of Kawartha Lakes and teachers. This was the first year that Girls On The Run had been offered in any school in the City of Kawartha Lakes. SIKL was proud to be able to sponsor this initiative.
